I remember as a young boy, my mom bought me the album, “What The World Needs Now Is Love/Abraham, Martin, and John.” The original song was composed by Burt Bacharach and made famous by Jackie DeShannon in 1965. Los Angeles, California disc jockey, Tom Clay, made a remix of the song and aired it in 1971. His remix went to the top of the charts!

It was one of my favorite records! I listened to it almost every day on my record player in my bedroom, as my young mind tried to comprehend, why these many tragic events had occurred to these great people.

It’s a lovely song, and Tom Clay’s version is so meaningful to me. Our world certainly could use more love…
